Have you ever had sex to music? If not, add it to your sexual bucket (or fuck it?) list right now.
This may not be a complete playlist but hopefully it’ll get your creative juices flowing (pun intended) and help you and your partner put together the perfect sex music list.
1. Young and Beautiful – Lana Del Rey
Haunting, somber and just pure Lana Del Rey, Young and Beautiful was part of the soundtrack to ‘The Great Gatsby’ in 2013, and it perfectly encompasses the story between Jay and Daisy. It talks about a person’s apprehension over whether love can really last, but rather than dwelling on the words, let the orchestral instruments take over.
2. I Put a Spell on You – Annie Lennox
This classic has been covered multiple times, and whichever of the stunning versions you like, for the purpose of this blog post I’m going to opt for the Annie Lennox one. Her voice is seductive and dark – two things ideal for a long session between the sheets.
3. Criminal – Fiona Apple
The opening line is “I’ve been a bad bad girl” – so what else did you expect? It’s an upbeat song but something about the sultry tone of Apple’s voice and how she “wants to suffer for her sins” has a hint of ropes and spanking to it.
4. Skin – Rihanna
Rihanna is the musical Queen of sex, so do we really need a reason to include her in this post? The lyrics are all about being skin on skin with your partner – perfect for a long slow love-making session with plenty of passion.
5. Intro – The xx
A little moody and monochromatic but this song is a popular choice for sex playlists all over the world. We say, why the hell not.
6. Body Say – Demi Lovato
This song explores some deep themes of sexuality and body confidence, and is certainly one of Demi’s more risqué songs. But it’s sultry and seductive – a great addition.
7. Precious Possession – Anna Wise
Anna lures you in with her dreamy voice, but the meaning behind these lyrics is just as good of a reason to get turned on as the beat itself. She sings of belonging to someone while also being very self-aware and knowing exactly who they are and what they want.
8. Meet Me In The Middle – Jessie Ware
Sensual, steam and inspired by the blues-era – what more could you ask for? There’s no wonder this song featured on the soundtrack for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’.
9. Radioactive – Imagine Dragons
While this is more along the themes of an apocalypse and personal revolutions, there’s no denying that ‘Radioactive’ is a dramatic song that will bring out the passion in anyone. The dark and strong beats will have you throwing your partner against the wall and pinning their hands to the bed.
10. I Don’t Wanna Live Forever – ZAYN feat. Taylor Swift
What’s the point in living forever if you don’t have anyone to share it with? That’s the point behind this song, and we must say we’re a fan of this collab. Take a listen to the lyrics, and then let the music take over from there.
